Chris Rastatter


A native Tucsonan, Chris attended Rincon High School and later graduated from the University of Arizona. He began officiating basketball while working at Lakeside Sports Club in the early 1990’s. He is currently going into his 23rd season at the Division 1 level. In 1994, Chris started officiating at the Men’s Division 1 level. Since that time, he has worked 18 NCAA Tournaments to include 2 Final Fours. Chris is extremely passionate about officiating, and also enjoys teaching. He currently oversees the officiating program for the Tucson YMCA’s. He has been the Co-Director of the Southern Arizona Officials Camp in Tucson for over 20 years where he has helped countless referees achieve their goals. He is a mentor to young officials around the country and revels in their success. He desires to share all that officiating has to offer with those that may be less fortunate and to expose them to experiences and challenges that will help prepare them for life.

The son of a referee, Tyler has been around basketball and officiating his entire life. He developed a passion for officiating at a very young age and it continues to grow today. He currently officiates high school basketball in Tucson as well as the Tucson Summer Pro League where he officiated last season’s semi-finals. He has attended the Southern Arizona Officials Camp the past four summers and shows a tremendous capacity for learning. He is now not only focusing on his own career but looks to help others, as well. At 22 years of age, he shows a great feel for the game and a knack for relating to players. He is a natural leader and a shining example of what hard work can accomplish.
